A popular Pakistani American activist, teacher, author, and now a politician known as Anila Ali has residing in Irvine, CA since 1996.She has announced her candidature for a seat on the Irvine City Council. As Ali is completely involved in the community, she, along with her husband, hopes to offer their kids the best education possible.
With pride for this wonderfully diverse and family oriented city of Irvine, she has the same goal for all the children and youth of the city while improving the education curriculum. As a career educator herself, she advocates for equal access and education. One of the key reasons behind her decision to run for Irvine City Council is her passion for civic engagement that includes serving on the City of Irvine Strategic Plan for Children, Irvine Public Schools Foundation Board of Trustees, and Youth and Families Advisory Board. Living in this nationally recognized and planned community, Anila Ali became fully involved in Irvine city life. She pursued her post graduate studies from Concordia University and started teaching at the Middle and High School levels. As a parent and community member, she believes in advocating for Irvine's children, youth, and families. She also served as a Board Member at the City of Irvine, and as a trustee of the Irvine Public School Foundation. The city has some of the most reputed public schools in the nation, and the presence of Concordia University, IVC, and UC represents its dedicated commitment towards achieving academic excellence. According to Anila, education is her forte however; her experience of living in the city has offered her the opportunity to live multicultural family lifestyle in a global city.
